Muhammad Taher Abuelma’atti was born in Cairo, Egypt, in 1942.

He received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering in 1963 from the University of Cairo, the Ph.D. degree in 1979, and the Doctor of Science D.Sc. degree in 1999, both from the University of Bradford, England.

From 1963 to1967, he worked at the Military Technical College in Cairo as a teaching assistant. He was with the Iron and Steel Company in Helwan, Cairo from 1967 to 1973 as a senior electrical engineer.

From 1973 to 1976 he was with the College of Engineering, University of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as a teaching assistant. From 1980 to 1981, he worked with the Faculty of Engineering, University of Khartoum as an Assistant Professor, and from 1981 to 1982 he was with the College of Engineering, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as an Assistant Professor. In 1982 he joined the College of Engineering, University of Bahrain and in 1987 he became an Associate Professor.

In 1991 he joined the College of Engineering, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia as an Associate Professor. In January 1995 he was promoted to Full Professor at the same university.

His research interests include problems related to analysis and design of nonlinear electronic circuits and systems, analog integrated circuits and active networks design. He is the author or co-author of over 500 journal articles and technical presentations.

Prof. Abuelma’atti is the recipient of the excellence in teaching award, 1995 and the excellence in research award, 1996 and 2001 (with Distinction) both from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.
